The Mental Toolbox

The Mental Toolbox was a wonderful experience, it was extremely educational, fascinating and in some cases unbelievable. All these wonderful qualities, plus more have truly changed my thinking processes, and have already begun to infiltrate my day to day life. As I revealed to Paul on Saturday, I had been sexually abused as a child. More than twenty years ago on Saturday the 21st of October I was abused for the first time and became a victim. On the 21st of October, 2006 I was no longer a victim, you taught me how to forgive and love myself. There is no way I can thank you enough… All I can ask is for you both to continue and help others in similar situations. Thank you very much for providing me with this opportunity and teaching me how to change my life for the better. You have had such an impact on my life, my husband's and my kid's and future.

You guys are the complete package I have been needing and searching for, for such a long time and here it is in my own back yard (almost). I'd take this bit from Tony Robbins, something else from Deepak Chopra and so on. I wanted to give you some feedback on the impact the Mental Toolbox has had on my family since Douglas and I attended at the beginning of the year. Apart from the pleasure of listening to your dulcet tones Paul, your course has really set us on the right path. Firstly, thanks for the weekend workshop, it was great. Even though I knew I had beliefs that stank about financial success, and I sort of knew what they were, over the weekend I got what they were as if I got them clearly for the first time and in a very weird way, I was actually surprised that I had those beliefs. Back in February 2006 I went to Sydney to attend your Mental Toolbox seminar. The tools and processes that you shared in the seminar have had a huge positive impact on my life.

During the seminar we learned about using the subconscious for creative visualisation, and also for healing. Experiencing the healing process was awesome - I had never heard of doing anything like this before, let alone actually experienced it. It had a very big impact on me at the seminar, though at the time I I didn't think it would be something I would use on myself.

In the weeks after the seminar I bought a goal book and started actively using it. This in itself was so empowering as I had never even thought about setting goals in such a formal way before. I also started regularly using the Mental Rehearsal technique to reinforce my goal setting, and of course I actually started achieving my goals.

About June after a visit to my GP I was told I had my third abnormal Pap smear in a row and needed to see a specialist. The specialist recommended immediate action, wanting to do a medical procedure the following week. The abnormal cells were advanced to the stage where he felt I was sure to develop cervical cancer if they were not surgically removed. Even then there was of course no guarantee that the surgical procedure would eradicate the risk. The recommended action meant I had to pay a few thousand dollars for the procedure and go through up to 6 weeks of pain during the recovery process.

I read up as much as I could about abnormal pap smears on the Internet and in the medical booklets I got from my GP. I realised that the abnormal cells were caused by the HPV virus so figured that if the virus could be eliminated by the body's immune system, then the cells would return to normal. I started on a course of vitamins and wrote a goal in July 2006 that by January 2007 my body would be free of the HPV virus and the cells of my cervix would be totally normal. I used the Mental Rehearsal technique to take me into my levels and created a special healing place that I went to, to visualise me dissolving the virus that was in my body, as well as healing the affected cells. I did this regularly for 3 months - between 2 to 4 times a week - and on September 20th received the news that I tested negative for the HPV virus. After this for a couple more months I used the same technique to go into my healing place and work on restoring the affected cells to normal. I did this about once a week. I knew that my body was back to normal, but was encouraged by my GP to have another test anyway to confirm (she didn't really believe me!). Anyway I now have in my goal book a letter from the GP stating that as at 22nd Feb 2007 my Pap smear was NORMAL .

I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to attend the Mental Toolbox again in Perth recently. I felt it was a great opportunity to reinforce my prior learning and it turned out to be a great decision because I also learned a new technique (for identifying fears/blockages) which has the potential to be a very powerful tool for me. It was also a great time for me because one of my friends, and one of my work colleagues attended with me, and are now both using the goal setting techniques.
